Description: Painted in archival encaustic wax and then carved in to emphasize the texture of the grasses in the foreground, the clothes sundrying and the corrugated zinc roofing, this nostalgic piece draws from the artist’s childhood memories of village life in south Trinidad; simple wooden houses with rusty roofs, hens with their chicks in tow, a clothesline in the backyard.
