Description – Sculpted from encaustic wax on a driftwood base and incorporating aluminum wire, metal nails and washers, fabric and shells, this nostalgic creation takes us back to a simpler time, when there was a dedicated day for hand washing the family’s clothing, often by the river’s edge. The clean wash would then be brought back to the home in large hampers, basins or baskets, where it would be hung out to sun dry on clotheslines.
